Our Classes

At KDC, we foster a non-judgmental environment and acceptance of everyone and every skill level. We welcome anyone who loves Kpop and wants to dance. There's no pressure and no question in class is too "stupid" to ask. We are all Beginners at KDC, and we are all learning together. We are a Kpop community.

There are three class options, Anpan (Beginner), B+ (Beginner Plus) and K Class (Beginner Plus). Classes are on Mondays 5:00-6:00pm, Fridays at 5:00-6:00pm and 6:00-7:00pm. Regardless of your age, dance experience or skill level, you are welcome to take one class or multiple classes together. More detailed information about the classes can be found below. The class schedule and calendar of KDC events can be viewed here.

If it's your first time joining us, please register for class.

FAQ

Which class should I take?

Where are you located?

728 E Lincoln Ave, 43229. We share a dance studio with Millennium Academy of Irish Dance and Gabriela Flamenco, so it’s a very international studio! It’s a corner lot in a small strip mall. Park in front, the side, or the back of the building. A map and more information can be found on our directions and parking page.

How do I pay for classes?
I will be accepting cash (and making change) for entry into class. If you bought tickets during ticket sales, you can use them for admission - tickets will be collected in a bin at the beginning of class. Please write your name on the back of your ticket. If you want to pay via Cash App or Venmo, please do so ahead of class and not at the door. It really slows things down when I have to process each person individually on my phone, and this takes away teaching time from other students. So, if you Cash App or Venmo me please do so ahead of class so that I can make a list and just let you in at the door.

If you pay for both classes together you get a discount and it's only $15 instead of $20.

When are classes?

Starting in March 2023, classes will be on Mondays at 5:00-6:00pm (Anpan) and Fridays 5:00-6:00pm (B+). There are no classes the last week of every month. You can find all upcoming classes and events on our calendar.

What should I wear for class?

General work-out attire like sweats, leggings, shorts, t shirts, tank tops, etc. Anything you feel comfortable in, as long as you can move freely and flexibly. I prefer something a little tighter so I can see your bodies and make sure you are executing properly, but I know not everyone feels comfortable. You can wear jazz shoes or ballet flats if you have them. I find that light sneakers also work well for most students. Heavy gym shoes or basketball sneakers may be too hard to dance in.

What choreos do you teach?

We do a mix of learning old and new songs. We learn choruses, whole/partial songs, or dance challenges. Although this is a serious dance class as we are learning proper technique, terminology, execution, etc, we are primarily just trying to have fun and enjoy Kpop culture and build a Kpop community. Therefore, this class is centered around the students and we decide as a group what we want to learn. This is your class! Current choreos with links to reference videos can be found on the calendar page.

Can I come and just observe? Can my mom or my friend come and observe?

Yes, as long as whoever you bring isn’t disruptive and everyone in class is OK with it. For example, if anyone who comes to observe is just staring you the whole time, definitely let me know if you feel uncomfortable or disrespected.
